Designated Learning Institutions In Canada

designated learning institutions in canada

If you wish to study in Canada, you should be aware that educational institutes are separated into two categories: Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) and Non-DLIs. The government has recognised Designated Learning Institutions in Canada to provide all facilities for overseas students. Furthermore, you may only obtain your study visa from DLI-approved colleges in Canada. This article contains a designated learning institutions list in Canada that you may examine before submitting your application.

Reasons To Choose DLI Colleges In Canada

One of the main goals for obtaining a study permit in Canada and a Postgraduate Work Permit (PGWU) is to enrol in classes at a DLI. The benefits of providing post-secondary international students with a fundamental infrastructure are numerous. DLI universities adhere to all provincial educational criteria for Canadian universities and are overseen by the federal government or a federal agency. The colleges and universities in Canada that have received DLI accreditation are known worldwide.

What Is A DLI?

A Designated Learning Institution (DLI) is a centre of education – a college or university that has been authorised to accept international students by a province or territorial authority.

A Study Permit is required for students pursuing undergraduate or Master’s degrees. In order to receive a Study Permit, candidates must first obtain clearance from a registered learning organisation.

What Is A DLI Number In Canada?

A DLI number is given to designated learning institutions in Canada. The DLI, which is an alternative name for the Organization ID in GCMS, is given to a post-secondary institution by the IRCC, which also receives data on the designation status from the ministry of education in the province or territory where the institution is located. Candidates applying through the Student Direct Stream (SDS) must first get an acceptance letter from an approved learning organisation in order to secure a Research Permit.

How To Change A DLI Number In Canada

An international student may alter their level of study, university of study, and programme of study while they are enrolled in classes in Canada with a valid visa. They may need to notify the relevant immigration authority, apply for a new study permit, and request an extension of their current study permit, depending on the change made.

Post-Graduation Work Visa

As an international student, you may wish to know if you will be able to work after graduation. You may or may not be qualified for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program even if you attend designated learning institutions in Canada. In addition to graduating from an approved recognised learning institution, you must fulfil all additional conditions in order to get a post-graduation work visa.

How Does It Work

It takes two steps to become an international student in Canada –

Step 1: To begin, you must be admitted to Canadian schools or Designated Learning Institutions in Canada. Once you receive a letter of acceptance, you may apply to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for a study permit (IRCC).

Step 2: If you are granted a study permit, it is because you have been accepted into a Canadian school. If you are a post-secondary student, you can change your school, programme, subject of study, or level of study without having to apply for a new study permit.
