How to boost brain power? This is that one question that comes to your mind to improve your performance and daily functionality, whether you are a student or an adult. Now, how to increase memory power in students is not very different when compared to the other age groups. The brain is something that we all use in every task that we do, just like other parts of our body it has to be taken care of too.

  1. Build Your Vocabulary

When your vocabulary is rich, you immediately sound smart but do you know how to improve brain power by having a quick vocab lesson turned into a brain stimulation exercise. Research suggests that different parts of our brain are stimulated by vocabulary tasks. Especially areas that are essential for auditory and visual processing. To testify this yourself, try doing this cognitive activity that will boost your memory power. 

  • Read at least a few pages everyday
  • Note down one new word and then look up its meaning & definition
  • Use that word at least five times the next day

You may wonder how to increase memory power and concentration by playing cards? Well according to a study, playing a game of cards can be highly stimulating for the brain of adults. A quick game of cards can lead to higher volume in different parts of the brain. The same study suggests that a game of cards also contributes to your thinking and memory skills.

How to increase your memory power? Teaching a new skill to someone else will help you polish your memory power and boost it at the same time. Once you learn a new skill, to ace it, you must practice it. In this process, you correct your mistakes and sharpen your skills which stimulates your brain tremendously.

  • Learn to swing a golf ball and practice it, later on, teach it to your friends
  • Learn the basics of a new language and teach it to someone new
  • Practice teaching your favourite subjects to your juniors or younger siblings/peers

Do you want to know how to increase brain power & be creative at the same time? The answer may lie in listening to some tunes! According to a study, listening to upbeat and happy tunes will help your problem-solving skills by generating innovative solutions. It’s better to work with soft music around than doing something in silence. 

And if you feel like learning how to play an instrument or maybe make some new music then it is a great way to boost your brain power by learning something new. You are never too old to learn an instrument like guitar, piano or even the drums.

  1. Take New Routes

If you have something that you do every day, try to tweak it and take new routes. Be willing to try new ways to do the same things but in a different style and manner. For instance, if you go to work every day, try a different route of transport; maybe take out your bike someday or use public transport instead of driving. Your brain will benefit from this simple change and you will be shocked at how easy it is to think differently.

These were just some of the exercises and techniques that will help you boost and sharpen your brain power. Whether you are painting abstract art on a canvas or working on a complicated geometric sum, both sides of your brain are participating actively and providing various inputs.
