Scholarship Overview

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) is offering Arturo Falaschi Postdoctoral Fellowships to highly motivated scientists who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in a world-class scientific environment in one of the ICGEB labs (Trieste, Italy, Cape Town, South Africa, and New Delhi, India). The fellowship comprises a very competitive package including a stipend of USD 1,590 plus health insurance and additional benefits. 

Benefits

  • The selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend accordingly: Trieste (Italy): Euro 2,000, New Delhi (India): US 1,590, Cape Town (South Africa): ZAR 18,750.
  • The fellowship includes provision for travel expenses from the participant’s home country to the ICGEB lab at the beginning of the fellowship and a return travel provision upon completion of the fellowship.
  • Medical health insurance coverage is also provided.
  • Visa/permit of stay application and renewal costs are reimbursed
  • All research costs will be supported by the research group's budget.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the applicant must:

  • Be a national of an ICGEB Member State
  • Hold a recent PhD degree in Life Sciences or have at least 3 years of research experience.
  • Be below the age of 35 years.

Note: The applicant may not apply for fellowships to be undertaken in their country of origin, unless they have been working abroad for, at least, the last 3 years at the time of application.
