Scholarship Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata invites applications for IISER Kolkata Department of Earth Sciences Junior Research Fellowship 2020 from postgraduate degree holders in Geology/Earth Science. The fellowship is meant for the project entitled, “Decoding the late Quaternary track of Indian monsoon in the Gangetic plains and its control on the vegetation and fluvial patterns: a multi-proxy approach". The selected fellows will receive a consolidated fellowship of INR 31,000 plus HRA.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on the applicant's performance in the interview.

  • The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be below 30 years of age
  • Hold a postgraduate degree in Geology/Earth Science
  • Have qualified CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
  • Have working experience in stable isotope ratio mass spectrometer
  • Have expertise in compound-specific analysis using GC-IRMS
