Scholarship Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali invites applications for IISER Mohali SERB Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) 2021 from postgraduate degree holders. The fellowship is meant for the project titled, "Gut Electromicrobiology: Understanding Extracellular Electron Transfer Capabilities of the Gut Microorganisms and its Implications to Human Health". The selected candidate will receive fellowship as per DST norms and as sanctioned for the project.

  • Based on essential qualifications supported by the necessary documents and prior work experience (as mentioned above), only the shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the online interview details.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must -

  • Hold a Postgraduate degree in Microbiology with a minimum of 60% marks
  • Have qualified for any national eligibility tests such as CSIR/UGC/DBT-NET and GATE in the relevant discipline
  • Have prior research experience/hands-on training on handling/cultivation of pure microbial cultures (preferably anaerobic) and molecular biology is desired.
  • Have knowledge and experience in microbial electrochemistry (desired)
