Scholarship Overview

Jane M. Klausman, a member of the Zonta Club of Syracuse, New York, USA, instituted the Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarship in 1998. This scholarship programme operates at the Zonta club, district/region, and international levels. Till date, Zonta has awarded 602 scholarships, totaling more than US$1.4 million, to 460 women representing 57 countries. This scholarship programme is open exclusively to women. Students pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree and Master's Degree are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Shortlisting Process

The selection of scholars for the Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarship involves a multi-stage process. The scholars will be selected after a thorough assessment of merit of all the applicants. The selection process includes:

  • Telephonic interviews for further shortlisting of candidates.

Terms and Conditions

The continuation of the scholarship depends on the good academic performance of the scholars in the examinations conducted by their respective universities.

Renewal cases of stipend holders who are not promoted to the next year will not be considered for further renewal.

 

Eligibility

  • Only for Women
  • Women of any age, pursuing a business or business-related program who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field and are living or studying in a Zonta district/region, are eligible.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a Master's program at the time the application is submitted to the local Zonta club.
  • Applicants must be in school at the time the scholarship funds are disbursed and must not graduate before December.
  • Classified members and employees of Zonta International and Zonta  Foundation for Women, and their family members, are not eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
  • Online students are also eligible to apply if enrolled at an accredited university/college/institute

Applications must be submitted through a Zonta club.

 

Application Documents

  • LORs: Two LORs required, one recommendation from a faculty member in the major field of study and one recommendation from an employer, volunteer supervisor, or academic advisor.
  • Essay: An essay in 500 words or less that clearly describes applicants academic and professional goals, the relevance of their program to the business field, and how the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship will assist you in reaching their goals.
  • Official Transcripts.
