Scholarship Overview

The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela invites applications for the NIT Rourkela Department of Life Science Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) 2021 from postgraduate degree holders. The fellowship is a temporary post for the project titled, “Enhancing Broad-spectrum Disease Resistance against Rice Bast by Engineering Orthologous Resistance Genes of Arabidopsis in Rice". The selected candidate will receive a consolidated fellowship up to INR 31,000 per month for the first two years and INR 35,000 per month for the third year.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Hold an M.Sc. degree in Botany/Life Science /Biochemistry with 65% marks
  • Have valid NET / GATE score, knowledge in cloning and plant tissue culture
