The Queensland Advancing Clinical Research Fellowships (CRF) program funds programs with a clear focus on translation into clinical practice and improved health outcomes. The Clinical Research Fellowships (CRF) recognises that clinician researchers (including doctors, nurses, dentists, allied health practitioners and clinical scientists) are uniquely placed to identify clinical issues that can benefit from further research, lead patient focused research discoveries and facilitate improved patient care through research translation.

Value of the Queensland Advancing Clinical Research Fellowship, 2022:

Successful applicants of the Queensland Advancing Clinical Research Fellowship, 2021 will receive living stipend scholarship and travel scholarship of value up to $100,000.

Eligibility

  • Applicants from all nationalities are eligible.
  • Applicants must hold a salaried appointment with Queensland Health or other publicly funded healthcare facility in a clinically related role (minimum 20% FTE) over the duration of the Fellowship.
  • Applicants must have completed some research experience.
  • Applicants must have completed an approved university degree.
  • Applicants must meet the English language requirements.

Applicants need one of the following approved degrees to apply for a PhD:

  • Master of Philosophy (or another research master’s degree); or
  • Bachelor’s degree from an approved university with at least honours class IIA or equivalent; or
  • Coursework master’s degree with an overall grade point average of 5.65 on the 7-point UQ scale which includes relevant research experience, approved by the dean; or
  • Postgraduate degree (at least one year full-time or equivalent) with an overall grade point average of 5 on the 7-point UQ scale, together with demonstrated research experience equivalent to honours class IIA will be considered on a case-by-case basis; or
  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years of relevant research experience, including research publications.
