Wellcome, a UK based scientific organisation is inviting applications from postdoctoral researchers who are conducting postdoctoral researches in health-related humanities and social sciences and do not hold established academic posts for Research Fellowships in Humanities and Social Science 2020. The selected fellows will get fellowship up to GBP 275,000 over a period of 3 years.

Benefits

The selected fellow will get:

• A basic salary for the period of three years or more 
• Visa, work permit and settled status costs
• Personal removal expenses of up to GBP 1,000 (if justified)
• Research expenses

Note: The award will not usually be above GBP 275,000

• Assessment of preliminary application
• Submission of the full application
• Review and shortlisting of applicants depending on the proposed area of research
• Peer review
• Interview of the shortlisted candidates

• Wellcome considers applications from researchers in the early stages of their careers as well as more established researchers.
• The suitability of the applicant's previous research contributions according to their career stage and experience will be considered.
• If the applicant has been away from research (eg for a career break, parental leave or long-term sick leave), it will be taken into account while considering the application.
• Researchers who want to follow health-related research careers elsewhere are encouraged.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be a postdoctoral researcher who wants to carry out an extended period of research on his/her own project
• Not be having a contract for the duration of the fellowship
• Be based or planning to be based in the UK, Republic of Ireland or a low or middle-income country
• Have sponsorship from an eligible host organisation
• Hold a PhD degree before applying for the fellowship
