The University of Sydney, Australia invites applications for the University of Sydney The Robert R Sterling Distinguished Accounting Honours Scholarship 2021 from students who intend to study an honours year in accounting. Selected students will get AUD 10,000 per annum for one year only.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be on the basis of overall academic merit with special attention paid to financial accounting units and the application for admission into the Accounting Honours Program. A Selection Committee consisting of the Head of the Discipline of Accounting, Academic Director of the Accounting Foundation and the Accounting Honours Coordinator will make the final decision.

Terms and Conditions

• The scholarship is tenable for one year only.
• The annual payment will be made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
• Deferral of the scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Associate Dean and it is not transferable to another honours project, faculty/University school or University.
• The scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
• In order to retain this scholarship, the recipient must maintain satisfactory academic progress to ensure successful on-time completion of their honours program.
• If the recipient starts any part-time study without prior approval from the degree Director, his scholarship shall be terminated.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be an undergraduate student who plans to study an honours year in accounting within the University of Sydney Business School
• Be completing Accounting Honours in the field of financial accounting, specifically study pertaining to the empirical foundations of measurement in accounting and the usefulness of accounting measurements for financial decision making

• No separate application required. Eligible students are assessed upon course admission.
