Program Overview

In your first year, you will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning medical science - anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genes and disease, law and ethics, microbiology, physiology, and epidemiology. You will also undertake a course in "interpersonal skills" which provides you with knowledge and skills in communication and interaction with patients. This degree, designed for high-achieving secondary school leavers, provides the opportunity for you to progress directly into our Doctor of Medicine.

Entry Requirement
Admission to the Bachelor of Medical Science will be determined by the following criteria:
- academic achievement for Year 12 applicants in the year before entry
- OR academic achievement for applicants who have completed their senior secondary studies up to three years prior to application and who have not previously attempted tertiary study at Diploma level or higher
- all prerequisite subjects (or their equivalent) must be met.
