The college was initially known as the Catholic Workers College, Dublin, and was established in 1951 as a collaborative effort between the Irish Jesuits and Irish Trade Unions. It is now a stand-alone college that offers full-time and part-time courses at all academic levels, from undergraduate to postgraduate, in subjects like psychology, finance, business, and computing, among others.
