MSc International Accounting and Analytics Pathway A

CAI have granted CAP 1 exemptions in three CAP 1 papers*:

• Paper 1—Finance
• Paper 2—Management Accounting
• Paper 3—Financial Accounting

*Subject to achieving a minimum overall degree award of a 2.2 (second class honours, grade two) and minimum examination performance in specified subjects.

A H1 or H2.1 undergraduate honours degree (NFQ Level 8) in Commerce/Business (or equivalent qualification) will be required. IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent, if applicable.

The cost of studying at National University of Ireland, Galway varies largely depending on the type of university and the degree chosen. More often than not, humanities, arts, and education courses are less expensive than degrees in medical, engineering, or management. Furthermore, students who choose to study at the postgraduate level typically pay higher tuition fees, which again vary depending on the programme chosen. 

Most universities provide scholarships or financial aid to students in order to help them offset their tuition costs. Students should be aware that additional course fees and incidental expenses may not be included in tuition. On average, international students can expect to pay €19,500 annually, to study in National University of Ireland, Galway.

Recognising the importance of analytics skills for accountants, the recent ICAS and FRC report on Auditor skills in a changing business world (2016) called for educators to include practical courses on data interrogation and analytics. Our new MSc is the first programme of its kind in UK and Irish Universities to offer practical hands-on audit analytics tools for accountants.
