About

Shannon College of Hotel Management, established in 1951, is Ireland's only hotel management school. The institute provides two Level 8 Business degrees, 5 Postgraduate courses, and other additional education alternatives such as flexible programmes, PG certs, and PHD Scholarships. These courses educate students for professions in business and hotel management. A focus on rigorous practical training, substantial business studies, and worldwide work placements are central to the university's spirit, ensuring students graduate with a highly sought-after qualification, skill set, and work attitude. Some of the primary reasons for choosing SCHM are as follows:

  • A globally recognized Shannon College degree
  • Structured work experiences as part of the degree programme
  • Shannon College's long-standing partnership with hotel partners
  • The university graduates' international reputation

Shannon College's ethos may be defined as the installation of excellent standards of professional demeanour, civility, attitude, and discipline. This programme prepares students for the hotel industry by emphasising customer service, attention to detail, complete attendance, adherence to a professional dress code, civility, completing deadlines, leadership roles and positions of responsibility, and teamwork. Shannon College degrees are the only hotel management degrees offered by the National University of Ireland because SCHM is a College of the University of Galway (University of Galway).

A vital feature of a Shannon College degree is professional practical training. Students learn practical skills and a depth of attention to detail to match the professional quality seen in the world's greatest hotels, particularly in Year 1 (in Shannon College) and Year 2 (on placement). Students at Shannon College are equipped with the resources they need to grow in professionalism and hospitality thanks to the institution's structure and environment. In fact, Shannon College students are often easily identified owing to their attires.

Shannon College's teaching and learning are anchored on SCHM's commitment to excellence, and students gain leadership, organisational, and collaborative skills through taking part in college activities like graduation open houses, fundraisers, social events, and sporting events. Students get a solid foundation in all important areas of business and management, which aids in the development of their managerial, entrepreneurial, and business abilities.

Most international students are obligated to show proof of sufficient funds in order to obtain a visa. Moreover, not all scholarships cover 100% of your study abroad expenses. At such times, most students resort to acquiring education loans to avoid the financial hassles associated with studying at the university. For Indian students, UniCreds is the ideal education loan marketplace if you’re looking for low-interest rates and free consultation services!
