According to The Complete University Guide, the university is placed 111th for Business & Management Studies and 87th for Accounting & Finance. The university was ranked number 76 in Accounting & Finance Rankings and number 120 in Business, Management & Marketing by The Guardian, a UK-only publication. Candidates should give the University of East London great consideration if they plan to major in business, finance, or accounting.
Both The Complete University Guide and The Guardian have given the university a decent ranking when it comes to taking engineering courses. For three years in a row (2019–2021), The Complete University Guide (CUG) has put the university at number 53 for studying civil engineering. The Mechanical Engineering programme has been ranked by CUG at 64 for 2021.
