In Guildford, Surrey, England, the University of Surrey (UNIS) is a public research university. The university and several other institutions received royal charters in 1966 in accordance with the Robbins Report's recommendations. The college was located in Battersea Park in London and was formerly known as Battersea College of Technology. The Battersea Polytechnic Institute, which was founded in 1891 to provide higher education in London to the less wealthy residents of the city, is where it all began. Due to its international connections and research output, the university is regarded as one of the top research universities in the UK. The main campus of the institution is located on Stag Hill, near Guildford's downtown and next to Guildford Cathedral.

UNIS received a Queen's Award for Export Achievement in 1991 and a Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher & Further Education in 1996 in honour of its outstanding accomplishments in satellite engineering and communications, teaching, and research by the Centre for Satellite Engineering Research and affiliated companies. The university's work in developing optoelectronic devices and ion beam applications earned it a 2002 Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher & Further Education. The Fairtrade Foundation granted the university the designation of Fairtrade University in July 2007. The university's work in the areas of clean water and sanitation earned it a 2011 Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher & Further Education. The university's Electronic Engineering Department was recognized as the most successful and inventive in Europe in 2013 when it won the Elektra Award for University Department of the Year. The university was recognized as The Sunday Times University of the Year in 2016. For "leading research and teaching in food and nutrition affecting public policy on diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, and other dietary related issues," the university received the 2017 Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher & Further Education. There are three sites for the UNIS, with the main campus situated in southeast England's Stag Hill, Guildford. The School of Veterinary Medicine, academic facilities, and the GBP 36 million Surrey Sports Park are all housed at the Manor Park location, which is close to the main campus. University of Surrey Entry Requirements

For postgraduate applications, students can use the University Application Portal and for undergraduate admissions they can utilise UCAS. Postgraduate applications are often free of cost, however UCAS charges GBP 25 for undergraduate applications. Those who don't meet the requirements can still enrol in the foundational programme (for undergraduate students) and pre-masters preparatory programme (for postgraduate students). English Language Requirements:

IELTS is not a prerequisite for an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at the UNIS. The school accepts 70% in English on the 12th board test from the ISC/CBSE boards and 80% in English on the 12th board exam from most Indian state boards. Not all Indian States are covered by this, and the institution retains the ability to compel students to take an English proficiency test.
