About

The University of West London (UWL) is a public research university in the United Kingdom with campuses in Ealing, Brentford, Reading and Berkshire. The Lady Byron School was founded in 1860, was renamed Ealing College of Higher Education and is now part of UWL. Its current name was formed after 18 years, followed by several mergers, acquisitions and campus moves. It is the best modern university in the UK for media, communications, art, and design.

 

According to the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide of 2022, UWL is among the top 10 universities in the UK for teaching quality. The university is ranked at the top in the UK for photography and film production in the Guardian's 2022 ranking tables. The Heathrow Archive, a collection of over 800 artefacts that tell the story of Heathrow Airport from 1946 to 2016 is located on the Ealing campus which piques every student's interest. University of West London has shown excellence by securing 1001–1200 spot on the global scale.


According to student feedback, UWL is the best university in Greater London for student satisfaction, recording the greatest scores of any university in the city in the annual National Student Survey (NSS). Courses from the university's various schools, spanning from midwifery to business studies and music technology to hospitality management, received 100% overall satisfaction ratings in the NSS. The university also scored the top overall satisfaction levels in the UK for Civil Engineering and Building degrees, with 100% overall satisfaction scores.

 

The university was ranked 97th out of 116 institutions in The Guardian University Guide's major rankings of British universities in 2015. However, in 2017 the university moved up to the 58th spot. Students can submit their application form using the university's online application, email or UCAS.
