Albany Medical College (AMC) is a private medical school located in Albany, New York. It was founded in 1839 by Alden March and James H. Armsby. Albany is a highly competitive college with an acceptance rate of only 1.26% overall and in-state, it is, 2.79%. The College has a student population of more than 800 students and boasts a student-faculty ratio of 3:1. The College is affiliated with Albany Medical Center, which is the region's only academic medical center. The Albany Medical Center includes:

Albany Medical College (AMC) has a variety of facilities available to students, faculty, and staff, as well as patients and the broader community. The university is the only medical college in Northeastern New York which offers medical facilities to its students. These include:

 

Clinical Facilities: The college operates several clinics and hospitals in the area, including Albany Medical Center Hospital, which serves as the primary teaching hospital for AMC students. Additionally, AMC has several research centres, such as the Center for Immunology and Immune Therapies, the Center for Cancer Care and Research, and the Center for Neuroscience Research, among others.

 

Library: The library at Albany Medical College is the J. Erik Jonsson Library, which serves the educational and research needs of the college's students, faculty, and staff. The library offers a wide range of resources, including books, journals, databases, and digital resources. The library staff is also available to assist with research and other information needs. The library is located on the 3rd floor of the Health Sciences Building on the Albany Medical College campus.

 

Accommodation: First and Second-year students on the Albany Campus have access to all accommodation facilities. Students higher than the second year can choose to live off campus as well. Three of their residence halls are South Hall for first years, Notre Dame for second years and Holland/Princeton Suites for upper-class year students. More than 600 students can be accommodated here.

Albany Medical College Entry Requirements 

Whether you're a first-time applicant to here, an undergraduate student seeking advanced status, or a returning student re-enrolling after a break, the admissions standards are the same for all applicants. Students wishing to be admitted here must make a mandatory application fee payment of $100 which is non-refundable. International students need to have a minimum GPA requirement of 3.60 on a minimum average scale of 4.0. Each applicant must provide the following:
