Bradley University, founded in 1897, is a private institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Located in Peoria, Illinois, is a top-ranked private university that provides 5,400 undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunities and resources of a larger university as well as the personal attention and exceptional learning experience of a smaller university. It was previously known as Bradley Polytechnic Institute. The institute was renamed to its current name in 1946. With 14 faculty members and 150 students, the university began classes in Bradley Hall. By 1899, the institute had 500 students enrolled, and a number of subjects had been added to the academic structure.
The four-year collegial programme was established by the university in 1940. In 1930, the university's first music building was constructed. Six undergraduate colleges and five graduate colleges make up the university.
