The private New York Institute of Technology was established in 1955. The campus is 215 acres in size, has a total undergraduate enrolment of 3,473 (fall 2020), and is located in a suburban area. NYIT describes itself as a global private institution and has two campuses in New York and three elsewhere. As the first state and federally financed Economic Development Project on Long Island, New York Tech was the first educational institution in New York to obtain state funds for a technology grant to spur economic growth in the state under Governor Andrew Cuomo. The Harry Schure Hall building at NYIT-Long Island houses the 8,000-square-foot Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC), which is virtually connected to NYIT-New York City.

New York Institute of Technology Entry Requirements
The New York Institute of Technology entry requirements differ from course to course. International applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.2 and a TOEFL score of at least 79 in order to be considered for admission to New York Tech.
