Scholarship Overview

The Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) is inviting applications from the candidates who have completed PhD and have done scientific research for the Klaus Liebscher Economic Research Scholarship 2020. The scholarship aims to give outstanding researchers the opportunity to contribute to the broad range of research activities by providing consultancy services at the Economic Analysis and Research Department of OeNB. The selected candidates will get a consultancy of EUR 10,000 for the entire period of the scholarship.

Following documents are required to be submitted at the time of application: 

  • A letter of motivation
  • A detailed consultancy proposal
  • A description of current research topics and activities
  • An academic CV
  • List of publications
  • The names of two references
  • Evidence of basic income
  • Written confirmation by the home institution that the Scholarship is not in violation of the applicant’s employment contract with the home institution.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the applicants must qualify the following criteria:

  • Candidates must have completed a PhD degree or hold an equivalent degree
  • Candidates must have published work and done scientific research in the field of Economics and Finance. 
  • Eligible candidates shall be acknowledged experts with a proven track record in economic research and shall be well integrated with their research community
  • Applicants must provide proof of active employment with a research institution
