About

Griffith College (also known as GCD or Griffith College Dublin) is one of Dublin, Ireland's oldest private third-level colleges. It is one of the two largest independent higher education institutions in Ireland. The college was founded in 1974 and has four campuses in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick. It has a student body of about 7,000 and 1,400 international students from more than 77 different nations. GCD provides students with full- and part-time degree programmes in law, accounting, business, computing science, journalism, media, TV production, film production, design, fashion, music, and drama.

 

The college is popularly known for The Leinster School of Music & Drama which is located on campus. The Leinster School was founded in 1904 and offers theory classes in music and drama to groups and individuals based on availability. The Leinster School is a testing organisation that offers levels of theory exams from preparatory to eighth grade.

 

Griffith College is a goldStar CPA recognised Educator and offers professional accountancy programmes for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), ACA, CPA, and IATI. The college has also received the Platinum certification from the ACCA, the organisation's highest honour, and is also an ACCA CPD accredited course provider.

Griffith College facilities include the Student Halls of Residence which is situated on campus, adjacent to the Students Union, the student bar and restaurant, the library, the creative studios, the student bar, and the student bar and restaurant. The college has a common area, a library, 10 computer labs with 248 workstations each, a CAD lab, a photography lab, a fitness centre, sound recording studios, a store, and a bar and restaurant. The college also provides career counselling for students, and there is an expert counsellor off campus who may offer guidance and counselling for personal and non-academic difficulties. Students (as well as alumni) can do research or study in the college library, which also houses a variety of required course readings for all degree programmes.
